A new decade needs a new font

by DRM

I’ve loved Helvetica ever since I set type by hand with it in the mid-70’s. Not only did it print clean, it stayed clean — the ink didn’t gum up in the ridges like it did on the dainty serif fonts. And when you looked closely at the type heads, you could see the precise sculptured incisions along the edges of the lines.

But a new decade needs a new font. Something fresh, energized, immediate. What should it be?
