The possibility of a new human code
During my lifetime the population of the world has doubled, a phenomenon that captivates me with its myriad implications.
Mix in the lengthening of lifespans and we are faced with an entirely new proposition on how to live a life.
Do the traditions, habits and cultural mores that have been handed down over generations have relevance in this new world? Is life more or less valuable? How do we callibrate our beliefs with the needs of the greater group? Do we trust that our instincts are self-regulating and self-propogating?
One thing I suspect: We do have to accept the possibility of a new human code.
